15 Films

There’s a meme going around Facebook where you are supposed to list 15 films (from this point forward, I shall call them movies) that are significant to you, that you can watch over and over again, or that you just want to recommend to others…something like that. I guess it’s different than a top 15 list somehow, but I’m not sure.

Anyway, since my blog posts automagically import into my Facebook notes, thought it would be worth posting publicly.

Here are my 15 movies, in no particular order:

  • Good Will Hunting
  • Fletch
  • The Matrix
  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
  • Shrek
  • Dumb & Dumber
  • Shakespeare in Love
  • Almost Famous
  • Reality Bites
  • Moulin Rouge
  • Fight Club
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Die Hard
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  • Rounders

What are yours?

  1. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,Once Upon a Time in America,Forrest Gump,Schindler’s List,The Onion Movie,The Sea Inside,Young@Heart,Charlie Wilson’s War,The Diving Bell and The Butterfly,Harold And Kumar movies,Godfather movies

  2. Wedding Crashers, Old School, Rounders, Fight Club, Snatch, Transformers, Live Free or Die Hard, The Matrix, Fletch, Good Will Hunting, The Hangover, Braveheart, National Treasure, National Treasure 2, Dazed & Confused. Not a very exciting list. most have seen these. just ones that I will always watch if they are on tv.

meesha, harold & kumar movies are HORRIBLE. haven’t seen the Diving Bell & the Butterfly yet.

  3. The Natural, Lost in Translation, Moulin Rouge, American Beauty, The Prince of Egypt, Office Space, Pleasantville, Love Actually, Almost Famous, Labyrinth, Airplane (the original), High Fidelity, Garden State, The Matrix (the original), and Run Fatboy Run.

  4. Lost in Translation, Suzanne?!? ugh. horrible, horrible movie. the other’s i’d agree with. except maybe pleasantville & run fatboy run.

  5. I loved Lost in Translation!! It meant something to me. I felt that way one point in my life and I could relate, so I felt a connection to the movie.

I forgot to add one of my all time favorites. “Rudy” Mock away.

  6. i love Rudy. i get goosebumps everytime they start chanting his name at the end of the movie. and i also love it that Vince Vaughn & Jon Favreau are in it.

  7. As you know, Rudy is an older movie. So I’ve seen it about 50 times and I still cry every time at the end. Sports movies in particular get the waterworks flowing. Not sure why?

Speaking of older movies..I also loved “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “Lucas”. Have you ever seen those or are they too much of a chick flick?

  8. Lucas is great. basically the same kind of story as rudy. small guy trying to play football. corey haim as the lead. i think it’s got the red-headed chick from goonies too, doesn’t it.

  9. Suzanne – Some Kind Of Wonderful was on TV a couple of weeks ago and I had to stop and watch it because I remember loving it as a youngster. Probably the museum scene where he walks her over to the painting he did of her hanging in there – that just about did me in! Ahhhh! Loved it!

  10. I could only think of 12. Here they are.

    The Man from Snowy River
    Return to Snowy River
The Man that Knew to Little
    Remember the Titans
    SpaceBalls
    Batman Begins
    The Notebook
    8 Seconds
    Office Space
    The Matrix
    Grosse Pointe Blank
    High Spirits
