Kris or Adam?
You have to give it to the producers of American Idol. This season is one of the strongest group of competitors near the top that they’ve ever had. I’m sure there are people who could have seen any of Alison, Danny, Adam or Kris winning.
But we’re down to two: Adam and Kris.
On one side, you have the theatrical, flamboyant, crazy mad pipes rocker Adam. And on the other side, you have the sensitive, solid-every-week, instrumentally-talented, John Mayer-esque guitar man Kris. The two competitors are about as different as can be.
Both had very good nights, but if you’re scoring only the finale, you have to give it to Adam, if only because the horrible final song, “No Boundaries”, favored his unbelievable range.
But my iTunes dollars will go to Kris Allen.
It’s really only a personal preference at this point. Both performers are deserving of the title. Both are extremely talented musically and both I think have the respect for those who came before them. I’m not talking about Reuben and Fantasia and Taylor Horrible Hicks and that cast of characters. No, I’m talking about the actual musicians like Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye (both of whom were honored in song tonight) and the others who have treated music not as a contest to be won, but an artistic outlet.
Who knows what their careers will hold for them, but this is the first season where I honestly won’t be upset regardless who wins. Both of these guys are more talented than over half of the previous winners up to this point and certainly more talented than some of the clowns who have record deals.
America really can’t screw this one up.
Like they did with Taylor Hicks…

Kris should win. At least he didn’t ruin any songs.

I somehow knew that the Taylor Hicks supporters would come out of the woodwork. Tell me something, “sieurtgj”, If Taylor Hicks is so darn good, why did he get dropped by Arista Records AND have the lowest selling American Idol winner’s album of all-time?
Answer: Taylor Hicks sucks.

It just amazes me that there are loyal fans of Hicks…
Any-hoo – I agree, what a talented group this year. And honestly, this isn’t fair to pair them against each other because they are completely different artists and there is room for both of them in the music world. I wish them both success! Either one can win knowing they stayed true to themselves in the process. Cheers to Adam and Kris!

For the first time since I started watching this show, I don’t care who wins. They are both incredibly, amazingly talented and both deserve the title. Kris is more “Idol typical” and I think the Gokey fans will probably go his way, but Adam by far has the best voice. His range is beyond believable. I don’t think his creativity would fit in the Idol box as well as Kris’, so for his sake, I’m kind of hoping Kris wins…I’m still torn on who I actually want to win.

GOSH! There are many people can sing like Kris! (Search on youtube dude) I can’t deny he’s cute and adorable. But sorry this is singing competition. Adam Lambert is history. His voice has no range. I understand Kris’s fans. But sorry this is real. He deserve it.

i thought last night’s finale was the best since the show started. some big names showed up to perform. i’m glad kris won, but it didn’t matter who won. both of them are gonna be highly successful. AmericanThai, maybe those people on YouTube should try out for American Idol then if there are SO MANY out there? Adam is a stud too, don’t get me wrong. I think he has been the strongest, most confident performer ever on the Idol stage. but Kris got better and better EVERY week. both of them did a great job making the songs they sang there own version (or at least different than the original).
and sieurtgj, you are a GIANT douchebag. anyone who is a Taylor Hicks fan is a moron. that guy is the biggest Idol joke ever. what an assclown! him and Danny Gokey should team up and do a duet together. same sound, same style of performance. Gokey is alot better though, even though i’m not a huge fan.
