I'm experimenting with a <a href="http://www.davidcramer.net/my-projects/lifestream" rel="nofollow">lifestream</a> plugin on Wordpress as well. It's unfortunately not quite a widget (you have to insert the PHP code into the sidebar manually), but otherwise it works well. You can see my Twitters, Diggs, etc on the sidebar.
