Maybe because I was sitting next to Elle as she cried because Wall - E was going to miss his roach. =) But I thought it definitely surpassed Cars - and was a much bigger story than Iron Giant or Short Circuit or Idiocracy. And who can NOT like seeing a bunch of lumpy lazy people ping ponging on a cruise ship to outer space!? I thought it was absolutely precious. I saw it as a story about what happens to this earth if we continue to "buy in bulk" and have robots doing everything for us, and we lose connection with each other, real connection, not through computers.
