[...] Favorite Book: This is a tough one. I’ve read more books this year than in any year past. If I wanted to seem all intellectual and whatnot, I’d say that The Tipping Point was my favorite read. And truthfully, it was my favorite non-fiction read of the year. Great writing and a fascinating book. However, I would probably say that my favorite book of the year was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Call me cheesy or whatever, but after reading all 6 Harry Potter books this year, I finally see what the big deal is. While I held high acclaim for several books this year (I had about 8 that scored higher than 9 out of 10 on my scale, including The Historian, which I called “the best book I’ve read in the last 5 years”), I can’t think of a single book outside of the fifth in the Harry Potter series that I enjoyed more.
I'm so glad you are having a positive Harry experience. As an aspiring writer, she is among THE VERY BEST authors to consider as mentors. You are so right about her character development...and her attention to detail. She's consistent, which is amazing considering so much of what she writes, she's created.

I agree with Rachel. I'll be very sad when I've finished the last book. I'm confident I'll start over at the beginning.

Cheers.

It has been really fun to watch you enjoy these books so much! It was fun watching the movies with you too because you are so excited to see the film version after you've read one. I am glad you took Julie up on her advice and started the Harry Potter books. I wish my "April Book" was moving along at the clip you seem to be with yours. I just can't get into it...I must need more magic!

this is my favorite of the Harry Potter books, so far. the kids just seem to be turning into adults in this one. i am also a huge fan of neville. i think he will play a large role in the last book... but we will see.

you will fly through the next book. it is too hard to put down! i don't know what we are going to do after the last book comes out. it will be so sad to know the series is over!

anyway, i am always glad to find more adult harry potter fans!

xoxo
